DIY Natural Lip Stain
Perfect DIY Natural Lip Stain
Have you ever eaten a plum and thought, “hey, that’s a perfect touch of color for my lips!” You can certainly go ahead and rub plum juice all over your lips, but that can get a bit messy. Instead, make a quick and easy natural lip stain that will moisturize and give you that perfect shade for your lips.
Like plums, there are certain fruits and vegetables that are known to stain: beets, hibiscus, pomegranate, and raspberries. Beets and hibiscus flowers are easy to find in a dry form online or at an Asian grocery store. For this DIY, we used powdered beets, hibiscus and peach blossom powered (used as a natural food coloring in baking). In the lip stain is beeswax, which is an excellent moisturizer that protects and repair rough, dry or chapped skin. The coconut oil adds another added layer of moisture and helps keep the mixture from getting too hard. Both beeswax and coconut oils are used in many natural skincare recipes, such as lotion bars. You can use any essential oil of your choice—it’s just for making the lip stain smell extra yummy.
